I know, I know. That sounds a little textbook-y. Like most things, there’s lots of jargon in the sustainability world and companies LOVE to take advantage of what we don’t know or how unregulated some of these terms are.
This list is meant to compile terms I’ve specifically addressed in my blog posts (with links to those posts) along with a short sweet definition. I’ll continue to add to the list as I create more content.

A corporation/company/brand that went through rigorous assessment by the nonprofit B Lab and met the standards for certification based on their impact in 4 key categories.
A brief statement claiming who a brand is, what they do, and/or why they exist. Some mission statements will include all of these, some may only include one.
Acting today in a way that does not negatively affect how we can function in the future. The 3 pillars of true sustainability are economic, environmental, and social sustainability.
A statement or declaration of a company or brand’s abstract beliefs. These are typically presented as one or two words followed by a brief description.
